Product Description

NexGen® XL15 partially cross-linked butyl rubber with a moderate degree of cross linking that is designed to be easily incorporated into a variety of butyl rubber tapes and sealants to impart better creep resistance and resistance to flow at high temperatures. NexGen® XL15 can be easily compounded with a variety of fillers and oils to attain the combination of properties and economics that you desire.

NexGen® XL15 comes in a pelletized form to make it easier to handle and measure into batches. The pellets also make it easier to disperse in a variety of solvents.

Storage and Hanlding

NexGen® XL15 may agglomerate over time. The agglomeration accelerates with ambient heat. Store in a cool, dry environment to prevent damage to the bags and to minimize agglomeration.

Processing

NexGen® XL15 can be compounded in most rubber processing equipment, including Banbury and Sigma blade mixers or on a two-roll mill. Pumpable sealants and adhesives can be produced by adding the pellets to an appropriate solvent in a high-speed homogenizer or disperser.

Safety

These materials are intended for industrial use only and the practices of good housekeeping, safety and cleanliness should be followed before, during and after use.

The above test results are obtained from laboratory injection molded ISO samples and cannot be used directly to determine end-use or design specification. The customer should determine the suitability to his/her application through their internal testing procedure. Datasheet values represent a statistical average or product properties and they may change with incr. data points.
