TerraSilk is a free flowing solid pellet consisting of siloxane dispersed in a thermoplastic carrier. At lower use levels TerraSilk can function as a process aid, providing better mold fill, lower extruder torque, internal lubrication, mold release, increased throughput and overall improve processing. At higher use levels TerraSilk can function as a surface modifier, provided increased slip, lubricity and lower dynamic coefficient of friction, as well as improved scratch and mar resistance. Also, TerraSilk can improve burning characteristics when applied in combination with halogen free flame retardant fillers. In addition, as TerraSilk is non-blooming, it can eliminate some issues associated with conventional lower molecular weight additives, such as storage, printing and paint issues.
